World Tours

International Resources

Guided and self-guided tours on rented Gold Wings are available around the world. Other organizations provide motorcycle routes in their area. (And, Paris has Gold Wing 1800 taxis.) To get you started thinking about riding a Wing overseas, listed are a few companies providing routes and rentals. Please note that Wing World doesn’t endorse any one firm and this is by no means a comprehensive list, so please research further if you plan to rent a Wing or ride a provided route.

Touring down under
Carmela Parker, GWRRA #068647-01, lives in New Jersey but was born in Australia, to, as she states, “an Aussie gal and American solider.” She moved to the U.S. when she was 11 years old. When her mother died in 2013, Parker planned a trip home to visit her family. Riding for 43 years, the last 25 on her fourth 1987 GL1200, Parker believed this might be her last trip home and wanted to ride while there. “However, renting a bike I wasn’t familiar with, going on a pre-packaged tour or planning my own ride and going it alone didn’t appeal to me,” explains Parker. She ended up booking a 12-day Wing tour with Chapel Australian Motorcycle Tours. They had the exact same ’87 Aspencade that Parker had been riding. “Tour owners Mick and Marg McHenry tailored a 12-day ride just for me,” added Parker. “These folks made me feel like family and took care of everything on the trip. I asked to skip the cities and tourist scene. I asked for more riding than sightseeing on foot and to ride to what I think of as ‘old Australia’ places reminiscent of the Australia of my childhood.”

Britain’s best motorcycle routes
There are many motorcycle routes around Britain and J&S Accessories have put together an interactive map on their website of some of the best ones. Two great destinations along these routes are Yorkshire Dales and Dersingham. Yorkshire Dales is a national park consisting of breath-taking scenery and straights and bends. Accommodations include Stone House Hotel in Wensleydale. It is renowned for its biker friendly facilities, including a renovated barn providing secure storage for guests’ bikes. Loxley House in Hawes is a B&B that welcomes bikers and even provides a toolbox full of equipment for when you need to make minor repairs to your bike. The owners are keen bikers and know all the best places to ride and enjoy the British countryside. Gale Green Cottage, located between Ingleton and Kirkby Lonsdale, provides bike washing facilities and storage for your bikes.

The Dersingham to Worlingham route incorporates breathtaking coastal views with picturesque English villages. For a relaxing ride with plenty of stops, this route is for you. Lodging includes Ryecroft Guest House in Great Yarmouth, a biker-friendly B&B on the coast. With undercover bike parking and located near Nelson Museum, Tolhouse Museum of Prison Life and a range of shops, this B&B is in the perfect location! Friftwood Lodge in Norwich is only 15 minutes away from the British super bike track Snetterton where you can find one of the largest model collector super shops. The owners are avid riders and offer the use of a double garage and locked bike parking and can give you tips on where to ride in the area.
